About Our Business
Brass Quintessence was founded in 1980. This Orange County, New York brass
quintet has performed extensively in the Tri-State area. The group is praised for
performing a richly varied repertoire consisting of over five hundred selections. These
selections include numerous genres, from Gregorian chant to pop and jazz. Brass
Quintessence has premiered new compositions and transcriptions written especially for
the group. The quintet creates an approach to music that cannot be musically notated.
They must be seen and heard to be appreciated.
The group's five members are highly skilled and well trained. All of the musicians have
diverse musical experiences. They include Keith Riddick and Steve Austin on trumpet,
John Lawrence on horn, Lenny Klopchin on trombone and Thomas Barone III on tuba.
Brass Quintessence creates an atmosphere that is entertaining and inspirational. Most
concerts are informal. Join the fun and leave our concerts whistling our music. Brass
Quintessence is available for recitals, concerts, wedding services, religious services,
corporate events, ceremonies and educational workshops.
